ABOUT US
We exist for one primary reason, to lead people to know Jesus. Whether it is in our worship services, small groups, or service to our community, we strive to honor and glorify God alone.
We are a church for every generation. We believe it is through fellowship with other believers that one finds a community that leads us to grow closer to God and closer to one another. We come together to study the Word of God and find discipleship to live as Christ lived.
We believe it is through the community of the church that we are able to meet the needs of those who live in Heber Springs. We seek to reach beyond our walls to the lost and broken.
WHO WE ARE
LOVE GOD
As people of God, we first seek a relationship with God. We cannot earn salvation through our own efforts but solely trust in the work of Jesus on the cross for our salvation. Second, we seek to live a life pleasing to Him through obedience to His Word.
SERVE OTHERS
Our second priority is to serve others within our fellowship here at First Baptist Church. We are commanded to love one another, pray for one another, carry one another's burdens, and build one another up. We strive to obey these commands here at First Baptist Church.
REACH THE LOST
God established the church with a mission to make disciples of all nations. Here at First Baptist Church, we want to be the light of Jesus to our community of Heber Springs and Cleburne County. We also reach beyond our community to our nation and the world with the gospel of Jesus.
OUR MINISTRY STAFF
Dr. Ricky Lee
Interim Pastor
Dr. Ricky Lee is married to Vickie and has two grown sons. He retired from First Baptist Church Sherwood, Arkansas on August 3, 2025, after serving as Senior pastor for 14 years.
Ricky’s experience is well-rounded. He has preached revivals, led conferences, conducted training, led mission efforts, and served as moderator and chairman for various associational committees. In addition, he is certified in Conflict Resolution, Next Level Leadership, Intention Interim, Evangelism, Smart Start, and Peacemaker.
Ricky brings a unique perspective to First Baptist Church Heber Springs, Arkansas and we are excited to be under his ministry.
Jim Cordes
Executive Pastor
Jim came to FBC first as a member and then was brought onto staff in July 2021. He has been in ministry since 2004 after graduating from Tennessee Temple University with a bachelor's degree in Bible, served churches in Alabama as Youth Pastor, and graduated with an MDIV and Ph. D. from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. Before beginning at FBC, Jim trained pastors in Ecuador and Kenya with International Church Planters. He is married to Emily and has 3 children.
Timothy Berry
Family Pastor
Timothy has been serving in ministry since 2020, where he has had the privilege of pastoring both college and career students as well as youth in churches across northwest Mississippi. He is a graduate of Blue Mountain Christian University, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry in 2025. Immediately following graduation, Timothy and his wife, Adriana, moved to Heber Springs after receiving the call to serve as Family Pastor at FBC. He has a heart for young people and a passion for meeting people where they are with the hope of Christ.
